When I’m a boarding guest, do I get to participate in daycare and play with other dogs?
What do I need to bring when I’m staying overnight?
We ask that your parents bring the food and treats you are used to eating at home, this helps you to not have any stomach issues while you are boarding. We provide beds, blankets, and food/water bowls. However, they are also able to bring any items that will make you more comfortable while you are here (toys, blankets, etc.), we will take pictures of all your items before they are taken to your room to help ensure that they go back home with you.
Are you able to give me my medicine?
We administer medication provided by your parent. When you check in we will get specific instructions on how to administer your medications.
How do I make reservations for boarding?
Your parent can call, email or stop in. We fill up fast so it’s best to make a reservation, especially during peak seasons.
What if I get dirty while boarding?
There is a chance that you may get a little dirty while you are here, between all of the outside time, pool time, and play time with other dogs our top priority is for you to enjoy yourself while you are here. We make every effort to make sure that our clients and their belongings go home with you clean, however if your parents would like to ensure that you go home fresh and clean ask them to schedule a grooming service which we will perform the day of your departure. It is always help for your parents to let us know when they plan to pick up so that we can have you and your belongings clean and ready to go at the end of your stay.
Have your parent call to make your appointment. You will need to make sure you're up to date on all your vaccines. (Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella)
What do I need to make a grooming appointment?
Our experienced groomers will work at a pace that you are comfortable with. During your grooming process our groomers are there to keep you calm and ensure that you have a good experience.
What if I don’t like to be groomed and give the groomer a hard time?
We do not groom fully sedated pets however we do realize some pets need some medication prescribed by their vet to help them relax. Have your parent bring your medication with you. We will administer it close to your groom time.
Will I be able to be groomed if I need some sort of relaxation medication?
Yes, our kennel staff will introduce you into a playgroup that best fits your personality and size. This will help you get some energy out before your time in the Paw Spa.
Can I play with other dogs while I am waiting to be groomed?
Our number one priority is to make sure that you have a good experience and that your parents love your new haircut, however if it isn’t quite what they had in mind we ask that they please let us know. Our groomers are more than happy to fix any issues upon pick-up, or if you get home and they notice something they would like done differently they can call us and we will either schedule a day for you to come in and get touched up or make a note in your file to ensure that next time we get your cut exactly the way you all want it.
What if my parents aren't happy with my haircut?
You must be up to date on the following vaccines: Rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP. Your parents will fill out a basic questionnaire and waiver to help us learn more about you and release you to play. We like for our guests to be spayed or neutered if over 6 months of age, but if you aren’t that’s okay, your parents just need to let us know that you are unaltered and we will make sure that you only play with other dogs of your same sex or that are altered. Our kennel staff will also spend some time with you outside to evaluate your temperament prior to adding you into a playgroup. This will help us get an idea of what type of buddies you will have the most fun with. We make your playgroup based on size, age and energy level.
What are the requirements for me to attend daycare?
It is not necessary to come in prior to your first visit with us, however if you would like to come in prior to being dropped off the first time you are more than welcome to come with your parents if they come for a tour or to fill out paperwork. We offer a complimentary day of daycare for all first time clients, this acts as a day for you to get settled in, meet the staff, and we will get to know you to try and find you the best group of buddies to suit your needs. At the end of this first day we will give your parent a full report on how your first day went.
Should I come visit before my first day of daycare?
When you come for daycare you will get lots of play time with your dog friends and our kennel staff. We utilize both indoor and outdoor play areas to make sure that you are comfortable regardless of the weather. Some of our favorite daycare activities include pool time (seasonally) and the special events we have throughout the year. If you come for daycare and prefer not to play with other dogs you will still get to enjoy outside time and will spend time with our kennel staff.
What will I do at daycare?
Of course! We know that your parents may be nervous leaving you so they are more than welcome to call us and get a report from the kennel manager you can also reach us via Facebook messenger.
Can my parent check-in on me?
No, our daycare is considered a walk in service, so your parents can bring you down to play anytime you decide you want to see your buddies. We offer full and half days of daycare (see rates for hours and pricing). Your parents just need to drop off and pick up during our business hours which are Monday- Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday 9am-5pm.
Do I need to make reservations for daycare?
Your parents are welcome to send lunch for you to eat if you are used to eating lunch at home, if you don’t typically eat mid-day then lunch is not necessary. We will not feed you during daycare unless your parent brings you lunch or specifically asks for us to provide you with an “in-house” feeding for lunch which is $2.50.
Should my parents bring lunch for me when I come to daycare?
If your parent feeds you in the morning then make sure you give your stomach plenty of time to digest. You need at least 1 hour of rest before you begin playing to prevent the risk of bloating.
Should I eat prior to coming to daycare?
We are more than happy to accommodate your needs. If you need extra down time or your parents bring lunch for you we will make sure that you have an hour to eat and rest during your busy day of play.
Will I get to take a nap and rest at daycare?
When you come to daycare you do play in groups with other dogs. We do play outside when weather permits. Our staff takes all efforts to send each guest home in clean condition however, parents must understand that they are sending their pet to a daycare where they do play and run around outside. Pets may leave here smelling like outside or get dirty playing outside or in their playgroup. If your pet gets extremely dirty during their playtime we will clean up your pet before they go home. Giving our staff an expected departure time helps us insure that your pet is cleaned up and ready to go home when you arrive.
