For Paws Unleashed brings a new, state of the art approach to pet care. Our suites are designed to feel like an elite hotel room, complete with custom bedding and flat panel/screen TVs. Our suites, in combination with our indoor and outdoor play yards, create a luxurious and safe atmosphere for your pet's retreat.

Ashley Renton

Ashley is a native to the Richmond, KY area and has always considered it her home. She spent her younger years working on her parents’ cattle farm and has always loved animals of all kinds from a young age. She moved to Columbia, MO for college, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications, which led her to become a film set coordinator in the Television and Film Industry. While working in this field, Ashley moved to Chicago and during her time there she got the opportunity to work with many different people and animals who worked as extras on TV shows and movies.

Wanting to move closer to home, Ashley returned to Kentucky and began working as an event planner, and eventually began to manage hotels at a variety of brands, such as Hilton and Choice Hotels International. She worked for these companies on both a local and regional level in Lexington and Eastern Kentucky.

While working in the hotel industry, Ashley began dreaming about opening a boarding, daycare, and grooming facility, but it couldn’t be just any kennel. Her experience working and being around animals her whole life and her expertise in hotel management came together to create the idea of For Paws Unleashed. Her passion and mission was to create a boutique hotel experience for pets, where they could enjoy a variety of amenities and receive the highest standard of quality care.

Over the years, Ashley’s vision has not only impacted For Paws Unleashed as a business, but has also had a great impact on our community. Her heart has always been to help animals and people in need, so the kennel has also become a refuge for many animals through partnerships with a network of animal rescues, helping to house adoptable pets while they wait for their forever home, giving temporary housing to animals who are displaced by homelessness, or whose owners are seeking treatment and receiving help for addiction, mental illness, or domestic violence. Many years later, For Paws Unleashed has grown tremendously, but Ashley’s mission, love for animals, and desire to create a home away from home is still at the heart of everything we do!
